Dr. Edward J. Rapp II, M.D., FACS
Dr. Rapp graduated from Duke University in 1981 with a degree in BioMedical Engineering. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1985, and then completed his postgraduate residency training in Phoenix. Upon completing his medical training, Dr. Rapp served the US Air Force for five years and then moved to Greenwood, SC, where he has practiced since 1995. Dr. Rapp opened the office of Premier Surgical Services, PA in Greenwood in September of 2003 which provided the community with a surgical practice offering weight loss surgery options in addition to a full range of general surgery options. This is the first practice with a dedication to bariatric surgery in the six county area of Greenwood, Laurens, Edgefield, Abbeville, McCormick, and Saluda counties. In 2010, Dr. Rapp opened an office of Premier Surgical Services, PA in Aiken, offering bariatric surgery in that area as well.
Throughout his practice experience, Dr. Rapp continues to expand his surgical knowledge through training and new technology. He completed a Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery Preceptorship Program in 2004, and a Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding Surgeon’s Training & Proctoring Program in 2006. Dr. Rapp was the first surgeon in South Carolina to perform many advanced robotic techniques during his procedures, including the use of Aesop robotics, and the completion of gallbladder removal and gastric procedures with full robotics. He was also the first in the Greenwood area to perform laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and adjustable gastric banding surgeries. Dr. Rapp is Board Certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery (ABS). He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgery (ACS), a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS), and a Member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).
Dr. Luciano Fiszer, M.D.
Dr. Fiszer received his medical degree from Favaloro University, Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2001. He finished his internship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in NY in 2005 before he moved to New Orleans to complete his general surgery residency in 2009. During the last years of his training he became more interested in advanced laparoscopic and weight loss surgery which made him pursue additional training. He joined the Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Program at the University of South Florida where he finished his fellowship in 2010. Dr. Fiszer is the first surgeon in the Greenwood area to complete a Fellowship in minimally invasive surgery with an emphasis on weight loss surgery.
Dr. Fiszer joined Premier Surgical Services, PA in September 2010. His practice focuses on all aspects of laparoscopic surgery and includes a full range of general surgery issues such as diseases of the breast and new approaches in gastroesophageal reflux and hernia management, as well as weight loss surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS).
